ANTIQUE – A 58-year-old tricycle driver landed in jail after he stabbed a fellow driver during a dispute over fare rates in Barangay Bacalan, Sebaste town here.
The suspect identified as alias “Willian” allegedly attacked 52-year-old alias “Jinner”, also a tricycle driver, following an argument while waiting for passengers around 2:10 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11.
Witnesses said the confrontation escalated until Willian pulled a knife from his sling bag and stabbed Jinner in the right arm.
Bystanders immediately brought the victim to Sebaste Community Hospital for treatment while the suspect fled the scene.
Sebaste police quickly launched a hot pursuit operation, leading to Willian’s arrest on the same day. Recovered from his possession was the knife used in the attack.
The suspect is now under the custody of the Sebaste Municipal Police Station for proper disposition./PN
