Marijuana worth P100K seized in Malay buy-bust operation

AKLAN – A drug suspect considered among the big sources of illegal drugs in the provinces of Aklan and Capiz was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Malay town.

A poseur buyer allegedly bought a kilo of marijuana from Gienil Ian “Og Shuk” Tuazon, 26, in exchange for P23,000 on March 8, at around 10:30 a.m.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Aklan conducted the entrapment operation inside the suspect’s house in Sitio Airport, Barangay Caticlan.

He also yielded 18 big packs of marijuana, mobile phone, weighing scale, and a food container used for storage of illegal drugs.

Police said the confiscated illegal drugs have an estimated market value of P100,000.

Tuazon was monitored by PDEA-Aklan of his illegal activities prior to his arrest.

The buy-bust team conducted the inventory in the presence of the suspect, barangay official, representative of Department of Justice, and a media practitioner.

Tuazon is facing charges for violations of Section 5 (selling of dangerous drugs) and Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs), Article II of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
