
ORLANDO Magic snapped Cleveland Cavaliers’ franchise-record 16-game winning streak with 108-103 victory in the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season on Sunday night (Monday in the Philippines) at the Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.
Paolo Banchero had a near triple-double of 24 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists, while Franz Wagner chipped in 22 markers as the Magic improved to a 32-27 record.
Anthony Black contributed 17 off the bench, Wendell Carter Jr. had a double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 15 points for Orlando.
Down 102-103 after a three-pointer by Cavaliers’ Max Strus, the Magic quickly regained the advantage courtesy of a jump shot from Banchero with under a minute remaining.
Following misses from the side of the Cavaliers, the Magic wrapped up the stunning victory with two free throws each from Caldwell-Pope and Wagner late in the game.
Donovan Mitchell scored 23 points in his return after two-game absence, Jarrett Allen had 20 points and 12 rebounds, Darius Garland added 19 points, while Ty and Strus chipped in 12 and 10, respectively, for Cleveland, which fell to 56-11.
Meanwhile, Quentin Grimes led seven Philadelphia 76ers players in double-figures with 28 points as they scored a 130-125 victory over Dallas Mavericks at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
Ricky Council IV posted a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds, Jalen Hood-Schifino, Jeff Dowtin Jr. and Oshae Brissett scored 19, 14 and 13 points off the bench for Philadelphia.
Guerschon Yabusele finished with 14 points and six rebounds, and Justin Edwards scored 10 points for the 76ers, which snapped a three-game losing skid to improve to a 23-44 win-loss record.
