BCPO monitors transport terminals

BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) is closely monitoring public transport terminals in the city and other key locations to ensure the safety of the riding public.

This comes after the reports circulating on social media regarding the alleged illegal drug use inside a public utility jeepney (PUJ) here.

However, after a thorough investigation and close coordination with various jeepney associations and drivers in the city, the BCPO confirmed that the reports yielded negative findings.

According to the BCPO’s Public Information Office (PIO), jeepney drivers plying the routes along Lacson Street have not witnessed such incident and vowed that if said incident did transpire, they would have reprimanded the perpetrators and report the incident to the police.

The city’s police force under the leadership of Police Colonel Joeresty Coronica emphasized its proactive stance against illegal drugs and other criminal activities to uphold a safe and peaceful community.

It further called on every Bacolodnon to stand united in the collective effort to keep the city safe.

The BCPO-PIO added that to strengthen the fight against criminality, the public is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through BCPO hotlines.

“Public cooperation is essential in maintaining peace and order, as community engagement plays a vital role in crime prevention,” the BCPO-PIO said./PN
