
MANILA – University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigresses cruised to a wire-to-wire 96-74 victory over Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws in the 2025 WMPBL Season at the Divine Light Academy Gym.
Negrense Kent Jane Pastrana had a near triple-double numbers of 17 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds to be named Player of the Game as the Growling Tigresses notched their sixth win in seven outings.
“For me, as a leader, ginawa ko lang ‘yung part ko na mag-contribute para sa team. Sa points, dun na ako magke-create kapag off ‘yung mga kasama ko,” Pastrana said in a post-game interview.
“Trina-try ko talagang i-feed ng i-feel ‘yung bola sa mga kasama ko para tumaas din ‘yung confidence nila sa loob ng court, especially dun sa mga rookies namin,” she added.
Isioma Onianwa added a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Karylle Sierba and Brigette Santos contributed 14 and 10 markers, respectively, for the Growling Tigresses.
Erika Joy Lopez finished with 17 points to lead the Lady Tamaraws, Cassandra Shane Salvani tallied 15 markers, while Mary Julienne Manguiat and Maxene Dela Torre ended with 10 apiece as they fell to a 2-5 record.
Meanwhile, Galeries Tower Skyrisers (5-1) secured a tight 63-58 victory over Pilipinas Aguilas (5-2). Gypsy Mae Canuto was named Player of the Game with 15 points and three assists.
San Juan-Go for Gold Lady Knights (5-2), on the other hand, prevailed over PSP Lady Gymers (1-6), 86-81. Rejoice Adlawan finished with 25 points and nine rebounds for the Lady Knights./PN
