ILOILO City — A family was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation carried out by the Iloilo City Police Station 2 (ICPS 2) in Barangay Baldoza, La Paz district.
Police identified the main target of the operation as the 38-year-old alias “Toto.” Also apprehended were his 46-year-old live-in partner and his elderly parents who were present during the buy-bust on Friday, April 4.
Recovered from their possession were seven plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 13 grams and valued at approximately P88,400.
According to Police Major Tranquilino Querubin Jr., officer-in-charge of ICPS 2, they received intelligence reports that illegal drug transactions were being carried out by the suspect from his parents’ residence.
“The suspect was operating right from the house of his parents, endangering not just the community but his own family,” Querubin said.
He added that the suspect has a previous drug-related arrest in 2001.
All arrested individuals are currently under police custody. Charges are being prepared as the investigation continues to determine the scope of their involvement and whether they have connections to a wider illegal drug network in the city./PN
