BACOLOD City – The City Tourism Development Office (CTDO) here confirmed that the celebration of the Bacolod Chicken Inasal Festival (BCIF) 2025 will be on May 22 to 25.
Under City Ordinance (CO) No. 847 that amended Section 1 of CO No. 482, the previous Manokan Country Inasal Festival was changed to Bacolod Chicken Inasal Festival, to be held annually in the month of May.
The ordinance aims to establish the ownership of the intangible cultural heritage of the chicken inasal as Bacolod original.
With this year’s theme, “Fire and Fusion,” the CTDO is tasked to organize Bacolod’s iconic chicken inasal festival, fused with culinary creativity, culture, and vibrant community spirit.
Based on the released schedule, the festivity will kick off with the “Salubong” at The Upper East in Megaworld on May 22. It will feature the Longest Inasal Grill Fest Opening Countdown – a start to days filled with food, music, festivities, and fun.
From May 23 to 25, the city will come alive with exciting events such as the Food Tasting and Beer Pairing Opening Night, the Chicken Inasal Cook-Off (School and Barangay Category), Hot Sauce, Sinamak Making, and Chicken Inasal Grilling Workshops, and the Chicken Inasal Awards Night.
Nightly entertainment and food fests will also take place across SM City Bacolod, Ayala Malls Capitol Central, and The Upper East Megaworld.
The grand culmination on May 25 features the BCIF Arena Dance Competition and the Roots Music Fest, blending tradition, rhythm, and flavor in a celebration like no other./PN
