ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) will be targeting top listed fugitives in Panay Island.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Arnel Solis, PRO-6 spokesperson, said they will prioritize the arrest of most wanted persons especially those who committed heinous crimes.

“As much as possible we have to get those who are in the top list, but of course we are also conducting operations against those who committed lesser offenses,” said Solis.

On Saturday, April 12, the No. 8 most wanted person in Western Visayas was arrested in Barangay Jawod, San Joaquin, Iloilo after a decade of hiding.

The fugitive was identified as Jelly Lagunday Solinap, 57, a resident of Maasin, Iloilo.

He has two pending cases – a murder that happened on May 11, 2016 and violation of Republic Act 10591 or Illegal Possession of Unlicensed Firearms.

The next day on April 13, the region’s No. 1 most wanted man for murder was also arrested in Barangay Model, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

The suspect identified as aliases “Ren-Ren” and “Maik”, 35, was a resident of Zone 2, Barangay San Juan, Molo, Iloilo City.

Meanwhile, the latest record from PRO-6 showed that 93 wanted persons were arrested across the region from April 7 to 13.

Of the number, 22 were in the top 10 most wanted list while 71 others were accused of lesser offenses.

The Iloilo Police Provincial Office scored the most number of arrest at 31, nine of whom where most wanted.

PRO-6 director Brigadier General Jack Wanky lauded the outstanding performance of all tracker teams across the region in locating and arresting these outlaws.

“These accomplishments show the dedication and unwavering commitment in accounting for the remaining wanted persons in the region. Additionally, this feat was achieved through the vital information provided by the members of the community and the untiring support from the local government units and other law enforcement agencies,” said Wanky.

He added: “We remain resolute in our intensified endeavors against fugitives and they will be staunchly pursued.”/PN
