BINGAWAN, Iloilo – Sixty-one families badly hit by super typhoon “Yolanda” in this town recently received new houses.
Mayor Matt Palabrica said 35 families from barangays Moto, Bundulan and San Dionisio now own new houses.
The other lucky 26 families hailed from barangays Poblacion and Alabidhan.
The P5-million project was financed by Jaemaul Undong Center of Seoul, South Korea.
No less than its president, Yoonhonh Shim, turned over the houses Friday last week in Brgy. Alabidhan to Iloilo provincial officials led by 3rd District’s Cong. Arthur “Toto” Defensor Jr. as well as the municipal officials of Bingawan.
The Jaemaul Undong Center is a non-government organization and cooperative from South Korea.
“We are really fortunate that we have been selected by the Korean government as one of their beneficiaries, among other ‘Yolanda’ victims in Western Visayas,” Palabrica said./PN
