SAN CARLOS City — A two-day football festival will be held here on June 28–29 as part of the city’s 54th Charter Anniversary celebration.
Hundreds of teams from Visayas are expected to join, John Carmona of the San Carlos City Football Club said.
There will be different age group categories. Players will see action in age categories 3, 4 and 5; 6–8 years old; 9–10 years old; 11–12 years old; and U14 and U16 (boys and girls). Other categories to be contested include the Women’s Open, Men’s Open and the 38-Up.
Carmona said the teams that already confirmed participation were the Bacolod Zion FC, Don Bosco–Victorias, Iloilo, Negros Oriental, Cebu and Negros Occidental, and local teams from San Carlos City.
The tournament will be on a 7-a-side format.
It is being organized by the San Carlos City–Negros FC headed by Mayor Gerardo Valmayor Jr. through the City Sports Office./PN
