BACOLOD City – Defending champion Brgy. 19 is seeking to retain the title they won last time in this year’s 8th Monico Cup 21-Under Basketball tournament.
There are two scheduled matches at the BAYS Center here.
Sporting unblemished record of three straight wins in the quarterfinals, they face Brgy. Montevista (2-2) and Mandalagan (2-1) for the last scheduled matches going to the knockout match.
A meeting for the knockout match will be held at The Bacolod City Sports Office on June 25, Rolando “Jack” Marañon, tournament manager, disclosed.
Eight other teams have the same win-loss cards with the defending champion.
The defending champion defeated Banago, 98-72 last week in Bracket F.
Banago (3-1) will try to avenge its only loss over Mandalagan following the reset game between Tangub (3-0) and Mansilingan (2-1) in Bracket D.
Brgy. 24 (4-0) will try to solidify its spot against Brgy. 9 (2-2) in Bracket B.
Only two teams will advance from each bracket./PN
