ILOILO City – Three graduates of Nursing from Western Visayas schools landed in the Top 10 of the Nurse Licensure Examination administered this May.
Mark Laurence Latumbo Caro of West Visayas State University (WVSU) was No. 7 with a rating of 84.40 percent.
The native of Calinog, Iloilo shared the spot with Charmaine Relos Timbas of Riverside College in Bacolod City.
Zhaine Marie Madrazo Samorro of Saint Paul University-Iloilo was No. 9 with a rating of 84 percent.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) released the results of the exam yesterday.
West Visayas State University in this city was the best performing school with a 100 percent passing rate. All its 139 examinees passed.
Two other schools had 100 percent passing rate – Cebu Normal University (Cebu State College) and Silliman University in Dumaguete City.
In the 2007 Nurse Licensure Examination, WVSU also had a 100 percent passing rate.
According to the PRC, 11,225 out of 29,188 examinees nationwide passed the Nurse Licensure Examination given by the Board of Nursing in the cities of Iloilo, Bacolod, Manila, Baguio, Cabanatuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Dagupan, Davao, Laoag, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.
University of Santo Tomas graduate Ma Margaret Benosa Sanchez topped the examination with a rating of 86 percent./PN
