BACOLOD City — All 2,400 provincial government employees will receive their midyear bonus by middle of May, a Sangguniang Panlalawigan member said.
Salvador Escalante, finance committee chair, said the remaining P10,000 of the workers’ additional bonus will be given out by first week of June.
He said the midyear bonus is a regular benefit of the employees and will be tax free.
On the other hand, savings on personnel expenses, which will be allotted for the additional bonus, will be released this month yet, he said.
The first tranche of the additional bonus (P10,000) was released in February.
“The midyear bonus could be used for enrolment, while the additional bonus could be used for school supplies and other needs of children,” Escalante said.
Provincial Administrator Enrique Pinongan earlier said the release of the balance of the additional bonus will be in time for the opening of classes.
