KALIBO, Aklan — Sachets of shabu and a firearm loaded with ammunition were seized from a man in an illegal drug buy-bust operation in New Washington town.

Jesse Perucho, 33, of Brgy. Polo, New Washington, was collared in the operation in Sitio Dumlog, Brgy. Tambac in the town.

Perucho was on the authorities’ drug watch list, according to Senior Insp. Al Lloren Bigay, New Washington police chief.

He yielded eight sachets of suspected shabu, a .38-caliber revolver with five live ammunition and the P1,000 marked money.

Nag-coordinate tayo sa Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency at sa mga kapulisan,” he said. “Ang suspect ay galing sa sabungan at maaaring may iba pa siyang ka-transaksyon doon.”

Joint elements of the New Washington police and the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Group (PAIDSOTG) staged the operation at about 3 p.m. on Monday.

Ngayon lang nagkataon na nakipag-transaction sa kanya ang poseur buyer natin from PAIDSOTG. May iba pa tayong mga subjects na ta-target-in ’pag makakuha na tayo ng ibang impormasyon,” Bigay said.

Perucho was facing charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

On Sunday, two drug suspects were arrested in another buy-bust operation in a boardinghouse in Sitio Bulabog, Brgy. Balabag in Boracay.

Recovered from them were 13 plastic sachets of shabu, a mobile phone and the P1,000 marked money.

Operatives of PAIDSOTG, Aklan Police Provincial Office and Boracay Tourist Assistance Center conducted the operation. (Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
