Motorcycle ‘thief’ to face 2 more cases

ILOILO City – A suspected motorcycle thief arrested on July 2 in Barangay Veterans Village, City Proper face two more robbery cases.

Two more complainants appeared at Police Precinct 1 and claimed they were the owners of the two other motorcycles recovered from the house of 43-year-old Rizalito Laguna.

Art Salvaloza said his motorcycle was stolen at a mall in Mandurriao district on June 1.

Jun-jun Aliñar, on the other hand, claimed his motorcycle was stolen in La Paz district.

“Two more cases of robbery will be slapped against the suspect,” said Chief Insp. Alexander Rosales, commander of Police Precinct 1.

A robbery case was filed against Laguna Wednesday last week after Josefina Quimsing of Barangay Habog-Haboog, Molo district identified him as the one who took her motorcycle parked on Iznart Street, City Proper.

Footages from a closed-circuit television camera led to Laguna’s identification and arrest.

According to city police director, Senior Supt. Ruperto Floro, Laguna was convicted for stealing a motorcycle e and was jailed at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City for 14 years.

He was released from jail last December 19, 2013./PN
