ILOILO City – Expect skilled police investigators to saturate Western Visayas now that the Police Regional Office (PRO-6) is conducting a month-long investigation training for 58 cops manning the investigation section of different police stations.

The training started July 1 in Camp Delgado here.

It aims to enhance  the policemen’s crime  solution efficiency, more specifically in the conviction of cases filed in court, said Chief Supt. Josephus Angan, regional police director.

“We don’t want criminal cases filed in court to be dismissed because our investigators failed to convince the court for conviction of the accused,” Angan added.

The month-long training will familiarize the policemen with procedures starting with filing of criminal cases and ending with conviction of the accused in court.

Angan warned, “Investigators who fail to attend court hearings that lead to the dismissal of criminal cases would be administratively sanctioned.”

The higher command has new a policy that a policeman personnel who fails to provide valid reason for his absence in court hearing would be subjected to investigation and if found guilty would be dismissed from the service./PN
