SAN JOSE, Antique – As a way of reaching out to the Muslim community, Gov. Rhodora Cadiao will open a “Muslim desk” at the capitol.
The governor also promised to allot around P100,000 for livelihood projects for Muslims in the province.

Led by their Imam and other leaders, several members of the Muslim community in Antique visited Cadiao.

The governor urged the Muslim leaders to feel free to visit the seat of the provincial government and present their concerns.
She told them the Muslim desk will attend to their problems and “strengthen brotherhood … toward peace and development.”
Macmod Abdullah, former president of the Al Alamin Association, said they were grateful for the governor’s gesture of goodwill.
Abdullah and his clan have been living in this capital town for 20 years now.

He said the provincial government under then governor Sally Perez provided them financial assistance they could use for livelihood projects. (PIA/PN)
