ILOILO City – The National Youth Commission (NYC) will hold a regional consultation here on the creation of the 2017–2022 Philippine Youth Development Plan (PYDP).

Around 50 stakeholders are expected at the consultation on Friday.

Nielex Tupas, NYC executive director and chief operating officer, said they want to know more about the concerns of the youth in Region 6.
“The PYDP is a blueprint of all youth programs and projects” and will show “our direction in the next five years,” Tupas told Panay News.
“We will listen to our stakeholders and later on encapsulate their concerns with those from other regions,” he said.
The NYC’s newly appointed chairperson, Aiza Seguerra, will be present.

“All 18 regions have their [specific] concerns, but once the PYDP is completed, we will have a common denominator,” Tupas said.
After the consultations, the NYC will present the PYDP to President Rodrigo Duterte.

“We can only implement it (PYDP) once the President has signed it,” said Tupas.

The one-day consultation will include workshops on youth participation and advocacy; current state and future vision for the youth in the region; and exemplary programs and projects.

The National Youth Assessment Study, the Regional Youth Situationer, and the Sangguniang Kabataan implementing rules and regulations will also be discussed./PN
