BACOLOD City – Forty-nine policewomen in Negros Island Region have undergone a specialized course for Women and Children Protection Desk officers.
The course aimed to equip the trainees with investigative skills and enhance their knowledge in handling cases.
It was facilitated by the Police Regional Office 18’s Regional Women and Children Protection Desk and Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division.
“I am encouraging you all to become more competitive female investigators and … practice what you have learned,” Senior Superintendent Mariano Natu-el Jr., deputy director for operations, told the participants at the closing rites at city hall.
The top three participants were recognized.
They were Police Officer 3 Maria Lorena Villegas of Guihulngan City police station (first place), Police Officer 3 Rosita Mindac of Zamboanguitapolice station (second) and Police Officer 3 LorinaVillalon of Guihulngan City police station — all from Negros Oriental.
Fifty-one police commissioned officers all over Negros Occidental were also undergoing thefirst Managing Police Operations Training at the Kanlaon Hall of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office.
The training, which started Sept. 19 and ends today, was initiated by the Regional Personnel and Human Resource and Doctrine Development and the Regional Special Training Unit.
Five more similar trainings were scheduled this year.
The training aimed to introduce basic training on managing police operations to all Philippine National Police units.
It focuses on the enhancement of knowledge, skills, abilities, and attitude of chiefs of police, deputy chiefs of police, quad staff, and other personnel.
Training to be more competent is essential in performing different tasks to fightand preventcrimes, the regional police said. (PNA)
