BACOLOD City – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Negros Island Region (NIR) recently launched five Negosyo Centers to assist micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the region.
The cities of Victorias and La Carlota in Negros Occidental, and the cities of Canlaon, Guihulngan and Tanjay in Negros Oriental now have their own Negosyo Centers.
Director Asteria Caberte of DTI-NIR led the launching of the Negosyo Centers this week, which started in Victorias City on Sept. 19.
“It’s a big help to MSMEs, because instead of going all the way to Bacolod or all the way to Dumaguete for their business name registration, this transaction is now available in their Negosyo Centers,” she said in a media interview during the launching in La Carlota City, Sept. 20.
A Negosyo Center is a platform or hub where MSMEs can be assisted in starting a business, as well as to sustain their operations through mentoring and trainings through DTI.
Caberte said a wide array of services will also be made available to MSMEs when they visit Negosyo Centers in their area.
“We demand Negosyo counselors to give advisory and services to MSMEs in the area like pricing of the products, trainings in product development and packaging,” she said.
A full-time staff will man the Negosyo Centers, which means business organizations will also be strengthened, she added.
She said DTI’s marching order to finish the processing of business registration in 15 minutes in these Negosyo Centers. (PIA/PN)
