ILOILO City – Ilonggos who are interested to learn about public-private partnerships (PPP) can attend the two-day “Enhancing Local Economy through PPP – A Seminar on Public-Private Partnership” from Sept. 29 to 30 at Diversion 21 Hotel.
Organized by the Association of Schools of Public Administration in the Philippines (ASPAP), the Masters in Public Governance students of West Visayas State University, and local government units, the event aims to be a venue for local government officials, business leaders, civil society organizations, nongovernment organizations, and the academe, among others, to enhance their knowledge on how to foster and implement successful public-private partnerships.
Featured speakers will include former executive director of PPP Center Philippines Atty. Andre Palacios, executive director of Iloilo Business Club Ma. Lea Victoria Lara, consultant for business projects Dr. Mario Tajanlangit, deputy executive director of PPP Center Philippines Eleazar Ricote and Fr. Joel Eslabra.
The speakers will discuss a wide range of topics related to private public partnerships and their socio-economic impact.
Japhet Grace Moleta, one of the lead organizers of the event, is optimistic about the seminar.
“We are optimistic that this seminar will be a venue for public and private sectors to meet, talk and start initiatives that will boost economic activities in municipalities, cities and provinces,” she said./PN
