ILOILO City – The public employment service offices (PESO) of the province of Iloilo and the municipality of Lambunao are finalists for Best National PESO award.
Lambunao will vie for the title under the first- to second-class municipal category while the provincial PESO is under the first class province category.
The national award is bestowed to performing PESOs annually. This year, it will be done during the national PESO Congress slated October 13 to 15 in Cebu City.
DV Agreda of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said that aside from the two, there are also other LGUs in the region performing well. These are the PESO of the towns of Tubungan, Cabatuan and Concepcion, all in Iloilo.
The performing office must be compliant with the three main core functions, which are referral and placement, labor market information, and career guidance and employment coaching.
They must also implement other programs and services of DOLE. (PNA)
