WESTERN Visayas will showcase its latest products and services on the first Ad Asia’s World Travel Expo (WTE) 2016 at the SMX Convention Center, MOA Complex in Pasay City on Oct. 7 to 9, 2016. Over 120 booths are set to exhibit destinations, tourist attractions, organizations and business trade relations in the field of hotels, airlines, cruises and other means of travel around the world.
WTE provides a venue for visitors to earn useful information of local and international travel options through conferences, workshops and activities related to travel and tourism.
Department of Tourism (DOT) Region VI Director Atty. Helen J. Catalbas is confident that the WTE will give Western Visayas several opportunities to attract new tourist markets by promoting the region to high quality buyers and industry experts.
“Western Visayas campaigns to be the tourists’ first choice as destination for holidays, vacations, health and wellness and meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions in the Philippines through its promotional campaign ‘Experience Western Visayas First.’ We are planning to continue the success of the past travel fairs/exhibits Western Visayas participated in as seen on the percentage increase of tourist arrivals of the region”, Director Catalbas stressed.
Director Catalbas explains that the DOT Region VI together with the region’s local government units and tourism stakeholders will continue to innovate and introduce tourism products and services that cater to the needs of the growing tourist domestic and foreign markets.
“More tourists are choosing Western Visayas as their destination through consumer awareness made possible through the numerous familiarization tours of both local and international media, tour agents and travel bloggers. This only goes to show that our tourism products are getting to be more and more competitive,” Director Catalbas concluded. /PN
