ILOILO City – A barangay councilman was arrested for shabu possession in Barangay Bagongon, Concepcion, Iloilo.
The 42-year-old Rodney Camayodo, councilman of Barangay Bagongon, sold a sachet of shabu worth P2,000 to an undercover police officer of Concepcion on Oct. 5.
Three more sachets and P3,900 cash were seized from him.
According to Chief Inspector Jonathan Pinuela, Concepcion police chief, Camayudo was in their target list of drug pushing suspects.
Camayudo surrendered to the town police in July claiming he was a drug user. But according to Pinuela, the suspect was also selling shabu in Barangay Bagongon and neighboring villages.
The police also suspected that Camayudo’s operation covered the town of Sara and Negros Island.
Camayudo faces a charge for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
