ILOILO City -Additional flights at the Iloilo International Airport are being worked out.
Tourism regional director for Western Visayas, Atty. Helen Catalbas, said she will meet with local tour operators and the tourism offices of the city and provincial governments to discuss the finalization of additional flights.
Catalbas, however, clarified that the additional flights will not be regular international flights like Hong Kong and Singapore.
“This is not like the Hong Kong or Singapore regular flights. This is going to be chartered. It will depend on the marketing of the partner tour operator from the originating market,” she explained.
She added, though, that chartered flights are a good start for regular flights.
The target markets include Korea and China.
Currently, Cebu Pacific serves the Iloilo to Hong Kong flight every Thursday and Sunday and Iloilo to Singapore every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. (PNA)
