BACOLOD City – After hiding for four years, a murder suspect was arrested on Tuesday in Barangay Blumentritt, Murcia town, Negros Occidental.
Police Senior Inspector Lawrence Gerard Bathan identified the suspect as Isidro “Mael” Colango Petallar, 34, of Hacienda Villarios, Barangay Cansilayan, Murcia town.
Petallar was waiting for a tricycle bound for Barangay Cansilayan when he was arrested by police operatives.
His arrest warrant, dated Jan. 6, 2012, was issued by Judge Manuel O. Cardinal Jr. of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 49 in Bacolod City.
He was brought to Murcia custodial detention jail, awaiting a commitment order from the court to be transferred to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.
The court also recommended no bail bond for his temporary liberty./PN
