ILOILO City – A 40-year-old father allegedly raped his 16-year-old daughter repeatedly in the last five years in a barangay in Miag-ao, Iloilo.
The rape started one summertime in 2009 when there were only the two of them left in the house, so said the victim to the Miag-ao police station. At that time, the victim was only 11 years old.
“The complainant alleged that June 29, 2014 was the most recent that the father raped her,” said Insp. Ceferino Gelpe Jr., Miag-ao police chief.
She was raped every time her mother left home, the daughter further alleged.
Gelpe, however, emphasized that the daughter’s claim is still under investigation.
She has to undergo medical examination, he said.
The daughter is the eldest among five siblings.
It was the mother who sought the police’s help Tuesday night because her husband was mauling their daughter, according to Gelpe.
The police arrested the father.
At the police station, the daughter told her mother about the alleged rape for the first time.
The father faces a charge for violation of Republic Act 7610 or the Anti-Child Abuse Law./PN
