BACOLOD City – One night a father in Barangay 1-A (Poblacion), Manapla, Negros Occidental scolded his son.
The following day, the son’s lifeless body was found floating at sea.
Police believe the 26-year-old Efren Juance Villanueva drowned.
Fisherman Gerardo Donguinez of Barangay Cadiz Viejo, Cadiz City found Villanueva’s body on Oct. 19.
Donguinez brought the victim to officials in Barangay Chambery. Barangay Captain Ronie Salo reported to the Manapla police.
The police in turn brought the body to a funeral parlor.
Villanueva left home on the evening of Oct. 18 — as he always does when he and his father have a fight— initial investigation showed.
Chief Inspector Edencio Gregorio, Manapla police chief, said they found no signs of foul play./PN
