ROXAS City – No untoward incident related to the observance of the All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day was reported in Capiz, police said.
The observance was “generally peaceful,” according to Senior Superintendent Samuel Nacion, provincial police director.
Nacion credited this to the public’s cooperation with law enforcers.
Government and nongovernment organizations, including local government units, helped the police ensure peace and security, too, he said.
Among those who augmented the police force were Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams, Roxas City Traffic Management Unit, Highway Patrol Group, Aviation Group, Maritime Group, Philippine Army, and other communication and volunteer groups.
On Nov. 1 a team from the Police Regional Office 6 inspected assistance hubs here to check on police presence and activities.
Seventy-two police assistance hubs were put up in several locations across the province, including cemeteries, transport terminals, tourist destinations, and other areas of convergence, Nacion said.
A total of 367 police officers, including “route safety marshals,” who were tasked to assist motorists and ensure smooth traffic flow, were detailed at the hubs. (PIA/PN)
