BACOLOD City – Two men who were accused of killing a sugarcane worker surrendered on Monday in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental.
The suspects, Leo Tacuri and his brother, Larry Jr., reportedly killed John Gremar Bombatso, 37, while they were binge-drinking on Saturday in Hacienda Elsa, Barangay Estefania in the city.
The two surrendered together with eight other sugarcane workers who were allegedly accessories to the crime.
Senior Police Officer 2 Raymond Bandojo of Police Station 4 said Bombatso was mauled before he was stabbed by Leo and Larry.
The suspects claimed the victim caused a commotion, prompting them to stab him.
The suspects are currently detained./PN
