ROXAS City – Despite the onset of the rainy season, there are no animal disease outbreaks yet in Capiz, according to Dr. Leonel Abordo, provincial veterinarian.
One of the reasons behind this is the alertness and early animal immunization carried out by the provincial government, explained Abordo.
From January to September this year, the Provincial Veterinarian’s Office (PVO) vaccinated 49,861 dogs against rabies.
A total of 2,388 chickens were given avian pest vaccines while 2,260 pigs were administered with hog cholera vaccine.
According to Abordo, the PVO still has free avian pest medicine. People can just go to the municipal agriculturist and make a request or directly go to the PVO, he said. (KJ Emperado and RJMijares, CapizAksyon News Center/PN)
