ILOILO City – A Racal motorcycle crashed against a Ford Ranger pickup in Barangay Pasil, New Lucena, Iloilo around 10:30 a.m. yesterday.
The motorcycle driver, 23-year-old Chito Allena of Barangay Cabilauan, New Lucena, died while being rushed to the Iloilo Provincial Hospital in Pototan town.
The Ford ranger pickup driver, the 46-year-old Gemlin Guarino of Barangay Cerudo, Banga, Aklan, was unhurt.
Indications pointed to the motorcycle as the one that hit the pickup, said Police Officer 2 Cosmeflor Marco Jr. of New Lucena.
“Perhaps Allena did not see the Ford Ranger or perhaps he failed to apply his brake,” said Marco.
The motorcycle was totally wrecked.
Guarino declined to be interviewed. He was detained at the New Lucena police station./PN
