BACOLOD City – The Murcia police are now investigating the motive behind the killing of a woman on Sunday in Sitio Anangue, Barangay Buenavista.
Rachel Tolipas, 45, a resident of Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City, sustained gunshot wounds on her head from a 12-gauge shotgun. She died on the spot.
Inspector Roger Ong, in his report, said Tolipas was in a videoke bar with Marjun Torocio, 28, a native of Kabankalan City, and the latter’s brother who is a minor.
On their way home, they were shot by unidentified persons. Torocio and his brother immediately fled the scene, leaving behind Tolipas.
Initial investigation disclosed that some other customers inside the videoke bar may have been annoyed at Torocio’s singing.
Police added that Tolipas and Torocio were having an illicit affair, as the former has a family in Bacolod.
According to the victim’s children, their mother left their house on Saturday and did not inform them of her whereabouts. Her husband was also clueless on Tolipas’ affair.
The Murcia police have two suspects based on the testimonies of witnesses./PN
