ROXAS City – For the nth time, police told everyone engaged in drug trafficking amid the intensified nationwide crackdown on the illicit trade to stop.
“Stop your illegal activities now. Your days are numbered,” stressed Police Regional Office 6 director Jose Gentiles.
Police officers will run after those who refuse to halt their operations, Gentiles said.
He also called on the yielders — suspected drug users and/or pushers who turned themselves in to the police — not to go back to snorting or peddling drugs.
Gentiles was confident the Philippine National Police will achieve its antidrug campaign targets by the end of 2016.
He and Senior Superintendent Samuel Nacion, Capiz police director, led the launching of “Sikad Kontra Droga” bicycle ride, which aimed to raise awareness on dangerous drugs.
More than 300 cyclists, including police officers, soldiers, cyclist groups, fire officers, local government and national government agency officials, drug yielders, and civic and nongovernment organizations, joined the 40-kilometer ride.
Capiz had the most number of participants in the activity in Western Visayas so far, Gentiles noted. (PIA/PN)
