ILOILO City – Six security guards face illegal gun possession and grave coercion charges. They were arrested in Barangay Caticlan, Malay, Aklan.
The six were all residents of Malay and connected with AFFA Security Agency. They were Jomar Sarino, 24; Darwin Lorenzo, 31; Alfredo Capisman, 60; John Mark Gregorio, 26; Reynaldo Ampa, 23; and Arlan Anton, 37.
If complainant Ronnie Manlabao, 56, were to be believed, the six threatened and forced him and his family to vacate their house.
Policemen arrested the security guards around 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 28.
“Pumunta sila sa bahay ng complainant then pilit nilang pinaalis kasi sabi raw ng may ari ng AFFA Security Agency tapos na ang kanilang renta ng lupa. But even if that were true, the court sheriff should be the one to do that at hindi sila kasi they may be held criminally liable,” said Senior Inspector Mark Salvo, Malay police chief.
Responding policemen seized a .9mm pistol and 22 ammunitions from Sarino and another .9mm pistol from Lorenzo.
Salvo said the six security guards will be charged with grave coercion because they forced the complainant to vacate the house.
Sarino and Lorenzo face an additional charge – illegal possession of firearms.
The guns recovered from them were unlicensed, said Salvo./PN
