BACOLOD City – A 12-year-old girl was killed while two others were injured in a road mishap yesterday in Purok Balulan, Barangay Tabunan, Bago City.
Angel Casidsid, 12, a resident of the barangay, was about to go to church when she was overrun by a cargo truck.
Her companions, who were not yet identified as of press time, were injured. They were rushed to the hospital.
Police authorities of Police Station 9 intercepted the ten-wheeler cargo truck in Barangay Sum-ag, Bacolod City.
Police said the vehicle’s driver, identified as Jon Klaro, 63, a resident of Barangay Tuguis, Hinigaran town almost hit them because he was drunk.
Klaro admitted to having drunk two bottles of beer in La Carlota City. He denied hitting the victims.
The suspect was accompanied by his two grandsons and his cousin, Hernani Telano.
According to Telano, they were not aware that they hit someone. He said they were bumped by another cargo truck.
Police authorities are still determining the cargo truck that also bumped and damaged Klaro’s vehicle.
