ILOILO City – Public market vendors are starting to double their stocks this holiday season.
According Emanuel Lipo, a public market vendor in Tigbauan town, December is the month wherein they need to double their stocks as more people are going to the market.
“Subong nga bulan (December) damo man ang amon nga stocks. Kinanglan gid doblehon. Damo abi mga gapaninda. Damo gid Christmas party kag reunions,” he said. “Kay nagligad abi nga tuig nabitin kami sa mga products namon, na out of stock kami.”
Lipo furthermore said they are expecting an increase in their sales as more consumers will need ingredients for their noche buena and other gatherings.
Meanwhile, Jenylyn Magsinop, a vendor from Iloilo City, expects that most prices of goods will increase following the consecutive oil price hikes.
“Umpisa na subong nga nagasaka ang presyo sang gasoline maataas man na presyo sang mga balaklon,” she said.
Lipo and Magsinop both said they are ensuring that their supplies will be enough for their customers.
On the other hand, vendor Bonny Bation is not expecting much this holiday season.
“Mahina-hina siguro subong ang benta kay pigado bal-an subong,” he said./PN
