ILOILO City — The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) will seek the establishment of additional police stations in Jaro, La Paz and Mandurriao districts.
In Jaro, the largest among the districts, in particular, the ICPO wants to convert the police substation in Brgy. MV Hechanova into a fully operational and independent police station.
Chief Insp. Rhea Santos, Jaro police chief, stressed that the district needs another police station mainly because of its size.
Jaro is composed of 42 barangays, including Brgy. Lanit, where the city government’s relocation site is located.
The current MV Hechanova substation covers 13 barangays.
The ICPO will pitch this proposal to the Police Regional Office 6 in Camp Delgado.
It said La Paz and Mandurriao — home to many business establishments, including malls, pawnshops and banks — need additional police stations, too./PN
