ILOILO City – One of the two suspects in the ransacking of the treasurer’s office of the municipal hall of Concepcion, Iloilo surrendered.
Richard Pendon, 27, of Barangay Poblacion, Concepcion surrendered to the Regional Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (RCIDU) with the help of a policeman uncle assigned at the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO).
“We coordinated with the suspect’s family,” said Chief Insp. Fernando Salvatierra of RCIDU.
Pendon admitted he was one of the two who robbed the treasurer’s office on July 19.
He identified his companion as 29-year-old Rex Libre, a neighbor.
“Rex was the one who entered the treasurer’s office and I was the lookout,” Pendon told the RCIDU.
Libre was once jailed for murder in Concepcion.
Pendon added that before they parted ways, Libre gave him P130,000 as his share out of their P398,000 loot.
He then bought a motorcycle worth P68,000 and used it as his service vehicle in moving around the province.
However, he said, the motorcycle was later stolen in Passi City.
