ILOILO City – “We are loyal to the duly constituted authority, the President, who is our commander-in-chief. Our loyalty is 100 percent.”
This was the reaction of Brigadier General Arnold Quiapo, commander of 301st Infantry Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division (3ID), Philippine Army, on the alleged coup d’etat plan of the military against the administration of President Benigno Aquino III.
Quiapo just laughed off the said information which he described as “ingay lang ‘yan ng mga nanggugulo (noise of the destabilizers).”
For Quiapo, there is no reason for them to rebel because the government has been doing well for its people.
“Our support to the present administration is stable,” Quiapo added.
Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV on Tuesday claimed that some retired generals linked to former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo were plotting to destabilize the government./PN
