ILOILO – On Dec. 31, 2016 a 73-year-old man was found dead in his house in Barangay San Jose, San Miguel town.
Rogelio Bonetillo was believed to have committed suicide, police said.
From what the police so far gathered, Bonetillo may have shot himself. Cops recovered a 12-gauge shotgun.
Bonetillo’s face was a mess. According to Police Officer 3 Billy Salvilla of the San Miguel police station, the man likely trained his gun on his jaw then pulled the trigger.
Relatives believed extreme sadness may have driven Bonetillo to end his life. All his children were all grown up and had their respective families, they said.
Bonetillo may have killed himself on Dec. 30, 2016 yet. Relatives who checked on him on Dec. 31 said blood was already dry when they discovered his body.
Neighbors claimed to have heard a burst of gunfire on Dec. 20 from Bonetillo’s house./PN
