ROXAS City — In less than two weeks, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) satellite office in Pueblo de Panay here will open.
Computers that will be used in processing NBI clearances will be taken in first, said Atty. Manuel Almendares, director of NBI Region 6.
The office was blessed on Saturday together with other establishments in the newly opened Punta Dulog, a 24/7 commercial/entertainment complex beside the Roxas City Integrated Transport Terminal.
It will have five personnel, who will work on clearance processing, and one special investigator, Beth Araneta, who will head the satellite office and cater to cases in Capiz and nearby provinces.
The five personnel will come from the city government here.
Capiceños and those living near Capiz need not go to Iloilo City to have their NBI clearances processed, Almendares said.
The satellite office’s current location, however, is temporary. It will have its own building on 1,000-square meter lot donated by Pueblo de Panay.
It will serve as the second NBI district office in Western Visayas, Almendares said./PN
