4 arrested for ‘hot’ guns

ILOILO City – Four persons, including two suspected drug dealers, were arrested for unlicensed guns and deadly weapons in three separate police operations in northern Iloilo.

In the town of Ajuy, police arrested 32-year-old Rogelio Ilema of Barangay Morocoro on Saturday night at the Crek Side KTV bar in Barangay Poblacion. Recovered from him was a 12-gauge shot gun.

In the municipality of Sara, police arrested Teody Arigo, 29, of Barangay Gildore and Reynaldo Baldoza of Barangay Zerrudo while drinking inside Passio KTV bar.

Recovered from Arigo was a screw driver and chisel; from Baldoza, a knife.

An hour later, the police in Estancia town arrested a suspected drug pusher, John Dee Matilla, 23, of Barangay Natividad, Pilar, Capiz on Inventor Street, Barangay Poblacion for possessing a .357 revolver.

However, Matilla’s companion Sadam Agridado escaped on a motorcycle.

Matilla and Agrigado were riding in tandem when the police flagged them down, said Senior Superintendent Cornelio Salinas, Iloilo police director.

The duo stopped but Agrigado later drove his motorcycle away, leaving behind Matilla.

Matilla and Agrigado were suspected drug dealers./PN
