SAN JOSE, Antique – Seven district hospitals and three municipal health centers in Antique each received an ambulance from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
Distributing emergency vehicles was part of the government’s thrust to elevate the health condition of Filipinos, PCSO chairman Jose Jorge Corpuz said during the turnover on Thursday.
Corpuz assured the PCSO will help Antiqueños, rich or poor, who need help.
He also urged Antiqueños to support PCSO-sanctioned numbers games, including Lotto and Small Town Lottery.
Municipal health centers without ambulances yet could request for the vehicles, said PCSO Antique branch manager Elma Gutierrez.
Emergency transport is a component of any functional health facility, said Provincial Health Officer Ric Noel Naciongayo.
Ambulances of some hospitals in Antique are already 10 to 20 years old, Naciongayo noted.
Acting Governor Edgar Denosta thanked Corpus and other PCSO officials for the ambulances.
In 2015 the PCSO opened a branch in the province and distributed nine ambulances to various hospitals. (PNA)
