ROXAS City — Some stallholders at the Roxas City Integrated Transport Terminal in Pueblo de Panay here fear that the newly opened commercial complex near them would affect their business.
Punta Dulog, owned by Pueblo de Panay, Inc., is only a few steps away from the integrated terminal.
Both facilities are inside Pueblo de Panay, a commercial and residential township in Barangay Lawa-an here.
A snack vendor in a stall near the jeepney terminal who spoke on condition of anonymity said she is afraid the public would prefer buying in Punta Dulog.
“Manami ila pwesto, mas damo display. Kag may class ila pagkaon,” she said.
Another snack vendor who refused to be identified said the stall lessees will surely get affected once Black & White Supermart, a popular establishment here, opens a branch at Punta Dulog.
“Nubo ang presyo nila kaysa sa amon kay dira man kami gabakal sang ibaligya namon,” said the vendor.
On the other hand, Michelle Esteban, a 38-year old vendor of snacks and viand, believes it is too early to comment on the establishment’s possible impact on their business.
“Daw masyado pa ka early para mabal-an kon maapektuhan kami kay bago pa lang sila bukas,” Esteban said./PN
