BACOLOD City – It’s all systems go for the annual city government-sponsored mass wedding today, Valentine’s Day.

Some 469 couples will exchange vows 3 p.m. at the Bacolod City Government Center ground.

The oldest among them were Barangay Mansilingan residents Nelson Naranja and Lalina Prio — 62 and 48 years old, respectively.

All couples were advised to wear something white and formal, according to Civil Registrar Hermilo Pao-yon.

Aside from a free ceremony, city hall will also shoulder the cost of processing their marriage documents and give them tokens, Pao-yon stressed.

After registering, the couples may have their photos taken at two photo booths at the venue.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia will officiate the wedding.

In case of rain, the ceremony will be held at the BAYS Center on San Juan Street./PN
