ROXAS City – Mayor Roberto Palomar of Tapaz, Capiz disclosed that health service and facility improvement, infrastructure development, social services, peace and security, and good governance were his top priorities.
“My priority is the people of Tapaz, their welfare and the best service for them,” he stressed as he broke down his administration’s accomplishments.
The mayor said they have so far bought two brand-new ambulances for the free use of Tapaznons.
As the town provided free medicines to senior citizens and free caskets to indigents, “advanced” facilities and equipment were in place in the dental clinic, said Palomar.
According to the mayor, his monthly salary will be for scholars.
“We have purchased heavy equipment such as bulldozer, dump truck, garbage compactor, and road roller, and more are coming for use in road network construction, especially in the 22 upland barangays, and other infrastructure projects,” he said.
The municipal hall will also be demolished to give way to the construction of a new one with an estimated budget of P120 million.
On peace and security, 63 members of the newly created Tapaz Security Force — equipped with a vehicle and other resources — were augmenting the police force.
Thirty-two security cameras will soon be installed in identified areas across town, said Palomar.
He also said he supports all programs of President Rodrigo Duterte, especially against illegal drugs, corruption and criminality. (PIA/PN)
