BACOLOD City – Seventeen people were arrested in Barangay 3, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental for playing Small Town Lottery.
The numbers game was illegal in the province.
Caught were Romneck Trancilla, 24, of Bago City; Raffy Labrellazo, 23, of Manapla; Eliezer John Cataluna, 21, of Barangay Alijis, Bacolod City; Aquilino Barte Jr., 54, of Barangay 1, San Carlos City; Bernabe Cedeño, 61, of Barangay 6, San Carlos City; Hilda Oliveros, 46, of Barangay Rizal, San Carlos City; Buenaventura Cañete, 59, of Barangay Palampas, San Carlos City;
Henry Ramirez, 52, of Barangay 4, San Carlos City; Analie Nazarino, 37, of Barangay Rizal, San Carlos City; Roberto Ortega, 50, of Barangay 2, San Carlos City; Juan Siason, 62, of Barangay 1, San Carlos City; Marlito Escanillan, 47, of Barangay Rizal, San Carlos City; Antonio Cabañero Jr., 44, of Barangay 2, San Carlos City; Ramon Barretto, 64, of Barangay 5, San Carlos City; Mario Esparagoza, 55, of Barangay Guadalupe, San Carlos City; Jacenta Blanco, 59, of Barangay 3, San Carlos City; and Hermenio Villarico, 65, of Barangay 2, San Carlos City.
Police records showed the following were recovered from suspects during the operation on Feb. 12:
34 cotejos (bet lists), 110 tally sheets, four tally sheet bundles, eight empty cotejos, four “bluebooks,” two cartons with STL results, a unit table with big umbrella, two monobloc chairs, nine identification cards for Super Lucky Beagler, Inc., a tally sheet pad, P5,018.75 cash, and other gambling paraphernalia.
All the suspects were taken to the San Carlos City police station./PN
