BACOLOD City – Two were killed in separate road accidents in Negros Occidental on Tuesday.
In Victorias City, Negros Occidental, 40-year-old Reymond Pontal of Quezon Street, Barangay 6 died-on-the-spot due to injuries on the head and body after he was dragged by a cargo truck, police said.
According to police report, Pontal who was driving a motorcycle was overtaking the cargo truck to allow an ambulance to pass through when he was hit by the truck.
The truck driver identified as 67-year-old Pablito De Belen told the police that he did not notice the victim’s motorcycle.
In Bago City, Negros Occidental, Reno Maniego a labourer of Purok Cosmos in Barangay Calumangan was hit by a multi-cab.
He was rushed to the Bago City Hospital but was declared “dead on arrival”.
Investigation revealed that Maniego was crossing the road when he was hit by the multi-cab driven by Harold Ecraela, 64, of Barangay Lalagsan, La Castellana.
Both drivers were taken in custody by the police./PN
