ILOILO City — It took the police five days to identify the lifeless body found Sunday in Barangay Pandac, Pavia, Iloilo, but they refused to reveal the name.

All PO3 John-John Serra, Pavia police investigator, said was that the 17-year-old boy from Arevalo district here was facing criminal charges in court.

Serra said the victim’s mother and brother-in-law identified the boy, who had gunshot wounds in the head and chest.

He also said the three empty shells of a .9mm-caliber pistol recovered from the crime scene could have come from the firearm used to kill the boy.

Records showed that the victim had been charged with counts of robbery for crimes committed in Molo district here and Oton town.

He was last seen alive in the afternoon of Aug. 2 onboard a taxi, Serra said.

Residents near the crime scene told the police that they heard three successive gunshots at about 10 p.m. that day.

“We received information that a taxi driver had fetched him somewhere in Arevalo, Iloilo City,” Serra said./PN
